Prior to joining SightMD, eye surgeon Alexander Hatsis, M.D., F.A.C.S. was a founding member of Long Island Vision Experts. Dr. Hatsis specializes in complex Cataract Surgery at SighMD and laser vision correction. Dr. Hatsis was one of the expert U.S. surgeons to help gain FDA-approval for laser vision correction and was the first surgeon to perform LASIK on Long Island in 1995. Dr. Hatsis authored 16 research articles and written several textbook chapters on LASIK Surgery at SightMD and cataract surgery. He also participated in FDA approval of Phakic Implant Lenses and was the first on Long Island to treat Keratoconus with Collagen Cross-Linking in 2007.
