How you practice optometry will differ drastically between clinicians and modality.

While there is no right or wrong way to practice optometry, there are certain eyecare providers who have interests in various specialties who might choose to focus their career or practice around them.

Sometimes, your interests can influence the way you practice optometry, your practice culture, and your life goals and happiness.

Dr. Nick Despotidis, FCOVD, FAAO, FIOA, has achieved incredible life and career fulfillment by choosing to practice specialty care. He and his partners, Dr. Ivan Lee and Dr. Barry Tannen, have crafted a specialty care practice around vision rehabilitation, specialty contact lenses, and treatment for vision-related learning problems.
Together, they have one of the largest practices in the country located in Hamilton, New Jersey. Along with this, Dr. Despotidis developed a practice management workshop, SuperChargeYourPractice, which is one of the most highly attended workshops offered at the American Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control annual symposium.
