About Our Practice

We are seeking an Optometrist to work with our practice located in the Philadelphia area.  Our current O.D. is leaving due to a family emergency.  We currently perform eye exams 3 days a week, but are willing to negotiate pay and hours. We are a small private practice family owned and operated. We accept most insurances and also have self pay customers.  We have a diverse demographic of patients from children to senior citizens.  We have serviced this community and have operated in the eyecare business for over 40 years.  We are looking for someone that is kind, friendly, professional with a commitment in service.  We have a friendly low key environment and are easy to work with.  Our office is newly renovated with a wonderful EHR system iPad and new Apple technology.  We have a full service lab in our basement that is currently being renovated, and a selection of frames and the exam office on the first floor.  Please let me know if you are interested! Optometrist Job Duties & Responsibilities

We are searching for a talented OD to join our growing practice! You'll use your clinical and interpersonal skills to provide high-quality vision care to our patients. The ideal OD candidate is committed to delivering quality patient care, and is eager to learn and develop their clinical skillset. Your regular duties will include:

  • Perform comprehensive eye exams
  • Diagnose and assist in the treatment of ocular disease
  • Prescribe corrective lenses
  • Provide pre- and post-operative care to surgical patients
  • Promote healthy vision by counseling and educating patients
  • Maintain detailed patient records regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and progress
  • Handle eyecare emergencies

Optometrist Job Requirements & Qualifications

  • Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree
  • Valid state license to practice optometry
  • Ability to communicate with a wide range of patient personalities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A strong sense of workplace professionalism and personal ethics
  • Customer-service orientation with excellent interpersonal skills
