We have a great opportunity for an Optometrist to join our team. We are a private Ophthalmology practice that is committed to patient care.   Our doctor, Dr. Amit Kumar was honored with the “Best Eye Doctor” Award in Cary Magazine in 2022 and 2018!  Record-breaking 15,207 voters’ casted ballots for their favorites in Western Wake. Western Wake area includes Cary, Apex, Morrisville, Holly Springs and Fuquay-Varina. We strive to provide an eye care experience like none other. Optometrist Job Duties & Responsibilities

We are seeking for an Optometrist who is passionate, detail-oriented, and caring. The idea candidate, will be focused on the medical model, can takes initiative without being asked, has a high degree of accuracy in charting and a commitment to gain the trust of their patients. 

As an optometrist in our practice, your expectations are to:

• Screen and manage common ocular diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, diabetes, dry eyes, macular degeneration & other Retinal diseases

• Participate in the co-management of surgical patients by providing patient education, pre-operative considerations & evaluations, and post-operative care

• Provide specialized care to patients over the age of 65, with a focus on conditions such as macular degeneration, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, and glaucoma

• Have an interest in diagnosing and treatment dry eye disease

• Maintain detailed patient records regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and progress

• Handle eyecare emergencies

Optometrist Job Requirements & Qualifications

  • Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree
  • Valid NC state license to practice optometry
  • Ability to communicate with a wide range of patient personalities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A strong sense of workplace professionalism and personal ethics
  • Customer-service orientation with excellent interpersonal skills
