About Our Practice
We are an optometrist owned private practice serving the communities in Albany, Schenectady & Saratoga Springs in New York. Our team uses only the best and most state-of-the-art equipment to ensure our patients are having the best eyecare experience possible. We serve a bi-modal population with patients ages 39-44 or 67+ years or older. Typically we see patients needing comprehensive exams and contact lens exams however we also handle some medical patients, but we don't require any medical specialty experience.
Our team is more than just a group of highly skilled individuals, and our practice is more than just a business to us. We currently have two MD's and 1 OD on staff, along with front desk admins, ophthalmic technicians, practice manager and optical staff we believe we have the ideal team to do what it takes to provide individualized patient care from start to finish all under one roof. We are a tight-knit group that feels more like family, and we treat our patients the same way. The patient experience is our top priority closely followed by how our team interacts and works together... We do have undergrad students come through our office from time to time to help them decide if they want to be in healthcare, and we also have med students who complete their rotations in our office as they prepare for graduation. Mentorship and education is extremely important for us, not only to provide to new or upcoming graduates but as our practice continues to expand we want to make sure each staff member has the ability to grow and sharpen their skill-sets.
Optometrist Job Duties & Responsibilities
We are searching for a talented OD to join our growing practice! You'll use your clinical and interpersonal skills to provide high-quality vision care to our patients. The ideal OD candidate is committed to delivering quality patient care, and is eager to learn and develop long-lasting relationships in our community. We also are looking for someone who is comfortable with imaging and using images for patient diagnostics.
Your regular duties will include:
- Perform comprehensive eye exams
- Diagnose and assist in the treatment of ocular disease
- Prescribe corrective lenses
- Promote healthy vision by counseling and educating patients
- Maintain detailed patient records regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and progress
Our practice has a lot of equipment that no other practice has, especially in our area, so familiarity with our equipment is a plus. We believe that to give great eyecare you need the best tools. As such, we have heavily invested in our equipment. Here is an example of some of the devices we have in house:
- Ultra wide field imaging with fundus autofluorescence
- HD OCT with angioplex and anterior segment analysis
- 2 Visual Field Units
- Autorefractors / Auto-lensometers / NCT
- Scheimpflug Corneal Topography
- Wavefront Aberrometry
- Quantitative pupillometry for enhanced APD quantification
- 2 biometers for surgical measurements
- Specular microscopy
- Manual phoropters: + Cylinder phoropters (- Cylinder available upon request). Automated phoropters
- "Living data" analysis for glaucoma and retinal pathologies.
