Vision To Learn is a non-profit organization that connects independent optometrists to kids in need at schools and community organizations in underserved communities. On board Vision To Learn’s mobile eye clinic, the optometrist provides an eye exam to students who have failed a vision screening, at no cost. The program was founded in Los Angeles in 2012 and has since expanded to schools throughout areas of 13 states and the District of Columbia.

80% of all learning during a child’s first 12 years is obtained through vision and is consequently one of the most basic problems standing in the way of educational achievement. Since our inception, Vision To Learn has helped over 380,000 students receive an eye exam from a licensed optometrist, and provided over 310,000 with glasses – at no charge. Vision To Learn partners with school districts in underserved communities, where students by and large go without access to eye care. Our mobile eye clinics arrive at the school on a pre-scheduled date. On board, the optometrist sees an average of 20 students daily.
