About Our Practice

Washington Eye Doctors has expanded to the suburbs.  It is a great time to join a growing private practice that has been serving the community of Washington DC since 1950. We provide personalized eye care services to patients of all ages with the majority of them being recent graduates to 100 years of age. Our practice takes pride in making sure our patients feel as if we are their family. We use cutting edge technology to ensure our patients receive accurate diagnoses and the most effective treatments. 

We are looking for a talented Optician to join our family-friendly practice. You will be working alongside our optometrists, opticians, technicians, and our supporting administrative team. Our team typically sees about 14-16 patients per day per doctor.  Not only do we see comprehensive eye health and vision exams we also see patients with glaucoma disease, dry eye disease, specialty contact lens fittings or eyecare emergencies. Our offices are fully equipped with the latest equipment.  Our boutique optical specializes in high end frames and lenses including Neurolens and Lutina blue blocking lenses from Tokai.

Our new Optician will be a welcome addition to our team and family, who is both personable and welcoming to our patients. A passion for eyecare and general patient health is essential to providing the best experience we can! The ideal candidate has excellent customer service, strong sales skills, and is a team player. Candidates with 2+ years of high end sales experience preferred! Our team of professionals will provide training and an on-board process to help get you up to speed.
 

Optician Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Educating patients on benefits and features of frame and lens products.
  • Fitting/Measuring/Selling frame and lenses.
  • Checking patients out, pre-appointing and contact lens sales.
  • Dispensing using the Washington Eye Doctor way of products sold.
  • Trouble shooting patient adjustment difficulties.
  • Answering phones, booking patient appointments, and verify insurance.
  • Specialty measurements.
  • Repairs of eyewear.
  • Maintaining a clean optical dispensary and optical lab.
  • Other duties as necessary.
