We are looking for a talented optometrist, who is comfortable thinking outside the box, to help tell the EyeQue story and grow the business through professional channels and networks. The Director of Optometry will be expected to present knowledgeably on the EyeQue value proposition at conferences and educational events and participate in the planning, content development and delivery of these events, with the goal of establishing and advancing EyeQue vision testing and screening, and usage.


· Lead EyeQue professional services activities in professional optometry channels

· Plan, organize and lead webinars for educating and training the professional community

· Participate in and present with authority at optical industry events and conferences clinical study information and the EyeQue value proposition

· Build awareness, knowledge, and usage for EyeQue through the business development and strategic partner activity

  • Support the VP, Business Development to define and develop the annual strategy and plans for business development and strategic partnerships, to include areas of focus, major events, clinical papers, customer presentations, customer collaboration, schools      & colleges of optometry and KOL activity.
  • Own the professional meeting calendar, identifying attendance and sponsorship opportunities that align with EyeQue business goals
  • Develop relationships with Optometry schools and graduating students, presenting EyeQue at student events
  • Build and develop relationships with key commercial, clinical, and educational opinion leaders involved in remote vision screening and testing.
  • Author papers and articles for publication in professional journals (optometry and ophthalmology publications)
  • Partner with marketing in the  development of content to support the EyeQue professional messaging, for  use across all messaging channels
  • Provide insights and perspectives from the professional community, lead the MD advisory board, and establish a key opinion leader panel
  • Be involved in and provide an optometrist’s perspective in new product planning, development, and testing, working with the R&D team. Uncover the unmet needs of customers and how EyeQue products can meet those needs.
  • Leads clinical studies to evaluate use cases for the EyeQue products in the optometric professional environment 


· Doctor of Optometry (O.D.)

· Minimum of seven years in optical industry 

· Ideally based in the Northern California Bay Area, with the ability to come to the EyeQue office two days per week

· Up to 25% travel

· Strong work ethic and professionalism, that is committed to exceeding customer expectations.

· Experienced presenter to large conference audiences

· Current relationships with Key Opinion Leaders and industry experts in the field of Teleoptometry and/or remote vison testing an advantage

· Demonstrated ability to network, identify and capitalize on opportunities. 

· Experience working in a corporate environment would be an advantage.

· Ability to present with positive personal impact.

· Strong personal presence, networking, and communication skills.

· Self-starter and hands-on go-getter is a must have, willing to roll up her/his sleeves and personally act to drive success.

· Demonstrated leadership skills; ability to work successfully alone as well as with a team to achieve determined objectives.

· Superior influencing and relationship-building skills, both with customers and internal stakeholders, which allow achievement of strategic and business goals. 

Work Environment

· Remote and office-based role (Benefits)
